Webcomic: Internet Love

Cartoon of a husband and wife. The wife says, “I’m sorry, Roger. I just have more fun with the Internet that with you.”

This is an illustration I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the "New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages."

I hope Roger and Carol got back together. The Internet is fun for a while, but it can't beat good old fashion human interaction.

Cartoon: Retirement Plan

Cartoon of a couple at a computer. The man says, “At our current savings rate, we should be able to retire in three hundred and twenty-seven years.”

This is a classic cartoon I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the "New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages."

I have a much better retirement plan. I close my eyes and toss the prospectus in the round file. Who needs to worry yourself with all that red ink?

Cartoon: Your a Mac, I'm a PC

Cartoon of a couple at a romantic dinner. The man says, “The question remains: can a Mac person and a Windows Person get along in marital bliss?”

This is an illustration I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the "New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages."

I can say a Mac and PC relationship can work beautifully, thank you very much. It has for at least seven of our twenty years.

Romantic Patterns

Cartoon of a boy and dad with flowers. Boy says, "Last night, you two argued. Today, you come home with flowers. I detect a pattern."

Handy tip, guys. Flowers do the trick. And if you ever think it's better to be right than have peace, you'll want to dig a trench because it will be a long, cold war.

I drew this for Illustration Friday. This week's word is "Pattern."

Cartoon: Bad Internet Cooking

Cartoon of wife at computer and husband. Wife cries, “Someone told the gourmet cuisine site about my cooking and now they won’t let me in.”

Bad news travels fast, doesn't it? Especially with the speed of the Internet on the side of the rumor mill.

This is a classic cartoon I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the "New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages."

Cartoon: Infinite ways

Cartoon of two boys walking. One says, "Today at school, I discovered there are an infinite number of ways to annoy a girl."

Yes, there are an infinite number of ways to annoy people, I'm going to try and find the infinite number of ways to be a blessing today.

This also works for Illustration Friday. This week's word is "infinite."

Cartoon: Love and Homework

Cartoon of dad and son. Dad says, “Your mom didn't marry me for my hair. It was because I did my homework. Now go do yours.”

I'm sure my dad used this ploy on me. Bless his heart, I never remember him with much hair. But he's always been a hard worker. He's done his homework, and so has Mom. That must be why she married him.

Cartoon: Games at Work

Cartoon of husband and wife in the kitchen. The husband says, “They’re not giving me a raise, but they are letting me play this really cool game at work.”

This is a classic cartoon I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the "New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages."

I used to design books for a computer games book publisher. It was fun playing video games for research. Too bad I stunk at video games. I knew I was in trouble when my five-year old son started beating me!

Cartoon: Nagging Material

Cartoon of two women. One says, "You are almost marriage material. All we need to do is teach you to nag."

I drew this in Adobe Illustrator CS2

Caution to the Wind

Caution to the wind

Cartoon of man and woman. Man says, "Next time, when I throw caution to the wind, I'll make sure it's not a headwind. "

I drew this for Illustration Friday. This week's word is, "caution."

Cartoon: Tastes in television

Cartoon of girl and teddy bear. Girl says “I don’t like your taste in television.”

I wonder what the bear wants to watch? The obvious choice would be "Animal Planet." Then again, maybe he's a Sponge Bob fan.

You know it's getting close to the end of a school break when kids argue with even inanimate objects. If the object brings the kid to tears, then you know it's time for a nice, family walk around the neighborhood.

Drawing a day #24

Spear 3467 / Drawing a day #24

Girl on beach to boy: “You’re leaving because there is a hurricane warning? I’ve hear that line before.”

I drew the line art with a crow quill pen and rendered the color in Adobe Photoshop.

Drawing a day 18

Spear 3461-Drawing a Day 18

Cartoon: Girl to prostrate boy, "I have to say your repenting skills are improving."

Illustration Friday: Sail/ Drawing a day #17

Spear_3460 Drawing a Day 17

Cartoon of man and woman in a sailboat. Woman says, "So this is the luxury cruise you promised me?"

Once again, I'm combining a drawing a day with Illustration Friday. It gave me a good chance to get a sailing scene drawn out.
