Fine Arts Tech

Cartoon of man with wrecked computer. He says, "It wasn't working so I converted it into a fine arts piece."

This is an illustration I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the "New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages."

Ironically enough, when I first tried to post this, my computer crashed. It must have been offended by the whole gag. Well, it wouldn't be the first time I've offended someone. It happens whenever you deal in humor.

New Rider's Publishing and me own the copyright to this image. Please do not use without permission.

Illustration Friday-Contained

Illustration Friday-Contained, originally uploaded by speartoons.

The word "contained" reminded me of teen angst. It's an age where things may be contained one minute, and out of control the next.

I drew this in Adobe Illustrator.

Illustration Friday-Punchline

IF: Punchline

When I thought of the word, "punchline," I thought of the times when I was sure a joke was funny, but discovered nobody else thought it was. When joke doesn't work, it just makes you want to throw out the joke book... or worse!

Illustration Friday: Rejection

When the word the week was "rejection," I thought of this image. I doodled it a few weeks ago while thinking about spring break. My daughter was offended dogs weren't allowed on the beach.

Angry Cat

Cats have no problem expressing their emotions.

Burning Anger

Caption reads: "I can't stand your patience! It burns me up! Put up your dukes!"

Anger is a scary emotion because it has so much power and can get out of control before we know it. A patient man calms things down. Looks like the guy on the right is so determined to be angry that he is going to start his fight anyway. That's what happens when you burn with anger.
