Cartoon: Bed and Breakfast

Cartoon of man at a bed and breakfast. Man says to caretaker, “I’m not interested in a Bed and Breakfast. Would you have a Lunch and Lounge Package?”

This is a classic cartoon I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the "New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages."

I've had some nice experiences with bed and breakfast establishments. Still, I've often wondered how long it would take to wear out my welcome. I'm guessing they would kick me out when the check didn't clear.

Cartoon: Bring your papers

Cartoon of dog in airport. Guard says, “I’m sorry, sir! But even if you are a mongrel, I must see your papers.”

This is a classic cartoon I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the "New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages."

Security is much more advanced (hopefully) since I penned this cartoon. At least the equipment looks more like something out of Star Trek. I wish they worked like the transporter instead of just beeping angrily at me when I leave my cell phone on my person!

Cartoon: A boring summer

Cartoon of two boys. One says to the other, “What a boring summer! Not one of us has had a trip to the emergency room.”

When you're a kid, you get discouraged because nothing exciting happened all summer. When you're a parent, you're praying nothing exciting happens to the kids all summer. Excitement can be quite expensive

It's hard to believe it's almost time for school. Let the excitement begin!

Enjoyed a day at the beach

Enjoyed a day at the beach, originally uploaded by speartoons.

I've been on vacation this week. Here is a sketch from the beach. I'll be back next week for some more blogging.

I saw this couple on a Florida beach. She was talking and he was listening (maybe). It looked like the culmination of a great relationship.

Illustration Friday: Rejection

When the word the week was "rejection," I thought of this image. I doodled it a few weeks ago while thinking about spring break. My daughter was offended dogs weren't allowed on the beach.

Post Vacation Stress

Caption reads: “I’m suffering from PVSD: Post Vacation Stress Disorder.”

Whew! I'm not looking forward to waking the kids this morning. The well-oiled machine will squeaky this morning. It was hard enough getting everyone to bed last night. Our biological clocks think it is still vacation. Oh, Florida! How we miss ye!

It was a great time for the family. Now back to reality!

Cold Water and Shells

Here is a little sketch out of my Moleskine.

The water has been a bit cold, but the kids are enjoying the shells. I am having a great time with my nephew and kids. The beach has been very, very good to us.
