Webcomic: Mom of Fear

Webcomic of two boys. One has a mask. The other says, "That's nothing. When I want to get scared, I look at Mom's to-do list."

Since Halloween is coming up, I've been looking at things that bring me fear. And yes, to do lists are at the top of my fear list.

Webcomic: Fast Trick or Treating

Cartoon of trick or treaters. There is a clown, firefighter and a princess. The firefighter says to the running princess, “Are you saying we should skip this next house?”

I drew this for Illustration Friday. This week's word is "Fast." I'm guessing the girl is clocking in at sixty five miles per hour and qualifies as fast.

Cartoon: Dentist appointment

Cartoon: Dentist appointment, originally uploaded by speartoons.

Cartoon of dentis to patient: "You're teeth look great. But it looks like we need to extract your tongue."

My trip to the dentist was okay, but strange thoughts happen when you are in the dentist's chair. My tongue is fine, however.

This works for Illustration Friday. This week's word is, "impatience." It's hard to be patient when a dentist is inserting strange tools in your mouth!

I drew this in Adobe Iluustrator CS3.

Ghost meets a mouse in a haunted house

I drew this in Adobe Illustrator.

Yes, I'm feeling a little Halloweenish today.

IF: Might Digital

Here is my version of "might", in a digital style. I still waffle over what is better: organic color pencils or the digitized twenty-first century!

Illustration Fri: Might

I'm trying a few things with color pencil. Strange, but when I think of might, I think of the anxiety that comes with it. This kid may be strong but he holds the world ( or at least he thinks he does.)

Might doesn't make right. It only gives you something else to worry about.

Facing your fears

Cartoon reads: “You see, Roger? That’s why I don’t like facing my fears.”

I thought I'd just take one of my roughs out of my sketchbook. Is it facing my fears of showing my rough lines in all its glory? Perhaps. I do a lot of sketching but haven't had much time to create polished artwork unless I can invoice it.

Anxieties to God

Yes, I just need to give my anxieties to God today. Do you ever have those days where there are too many things going around in your head and you just want to toss all the to-do lists and filled calendars out the window? Well, that's the way with me today. I just need to practice what I doodle. God, you can have them today! I just need to be sure I don't fill up my to-do's after I give Him the old list!
